Dealing with Windows Registry ErrorsIf you have a computer with a Windows operating system, it is imperative that your registry is working properly. Registry errors occur when the Windows registry is not properly configured. This misconfiguration can be the result of improperly written programs, viruses or other malicious programs being installed on your computer. If an application error takes place or the application is not operating in the correct way, the registry will eventually become clogged and errors will begin to develop. With the proper protection and maintenance, registry errors can be easily fixed and prevented. The main reasons why it is so important to make sure that your registry is in prime condition is that it plays a vital role in all of your programs and applications running correctly. The main purpose of the windows registry is to serve as one centralized location for all of the programs and settings that have to register their command values and parameters on your computer. Windows registry serves as a database for all the setting and options associated with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems. The registry also stores all of the hardware, software, users, preferences and settings that are associated with your computer. The registry plays a critical role in every program that your computer operates. While registry errors may be a pain to deal with, they can be easily resolved if you have the right tools and the right information. You can manually troubleshoot a great deal of registry problems by yourself if you invest in software that can scan and repair your registry whenever there is a problem. One of the most common causes of registry errors is invalid or broken shortcuts, which can be easily fixed by purging your Desktop and Start Menu and fixing all of your shortcut links. If you are a relatively low-risk computer user, you may be able to use Microsoft’s Reg Clean to help keep your registry in good condition. Reg Clean is a free software program offered by Microsoft that helps to resolve a series of registry problems that are the most common with Microsoft users. |
